The construction of the new steel framed, 6 court sports hall at the Ockendon Academy, Essex is nearing completion.
The facility has been designed in collaboration with Essex Cricket to provide a state of the art facility incorporating 6 cricket nets. The building will also include an office, toilets, and space for changing rooms.
We have been involved with the project from developed design stage and were tasked with bringing the project back on budget as the tender process had resulted in bids more than twice the budget. Our in-house design and estimating team were able to implement design and specification changes which reduced the cost by nearly £1m without impacting on the functionality of the building.
Our experience also allowed us to assist with securing Essex Cricket funding and identifying additional funding sources available to the Academy.
Directline Structures specialise in the design and construction of steel framed buildings. Our in-house design team, led by Architect Katy Barker, utilise our construction knowledge to design efficient buildings from the start, ensuring we meet client requirements and budget restrictions. This is then followed through with our complete construction management, delivering projects to a high quality, on time and on budget.
